Jan was the most cautious nine-year-old in all of Brighton. He triple-checked his shoelaces and always wore his bicycle helmet extra tight. But on this peculiar Tuesday morning, he spotted something rather unusual - a bright purple flyer that read: 'Ninja Academy for Silly Monsters: New Students Welcome!'
Surely this must be a joke, Jan whispered to himself, adjusting his perfectly secured backpack. But as he peered through the old oak tree's hollow, he saw a giggling dragon attempting to tie its karate belt, while a werewolf kept sneezing glitter.
The dragon noticed Jan and waved enthusiastically. Hello there! I'm Giggles, and this sneezy fellow is Wolfgang, the dragon said, hiccupping small flames. Would you like to join our morning warm-up? We're learning how to bow without falling over!
Jan carefully stepped through the hollow tree. Inside was an enormous dojo with rainbow-coloured mats and twinkling lanterns. At the front stood their sensei - a stern-faced yeti wearing sunglasses and a black belt. Welcome, new student, the yeti said without smiling.
The first lesson was 'Ninja Rolling for Beginners.' Wolfgang rolled straight into a wall, leaving paw prints on the ceiling somehow. Giggles kept floating instead of rolling, and Jan... well, Jan was too busy making sure his knee pads were properly secured.
You must learn to be less careful sometimes, Sensei Yeti grumbled. Watch me. But as he demonstrated the perfect roll, his sunglasses flew off, revealing eyes that sparkled like disco balls. Everyone gasped - their grumpy sensei had glitter eyes!
My eyes are my biggest embarrassment, Sensei Yeti admitted, shuffling his feet. How can anyone take a ninja master seriously with disco ball eyes? Jan thought for a moment, then smiled. But they're brilliant! You could use them for distraction techniques!
Suddenly, Jan had an idea. Everyone, gather round! he called. Together, they created the 'Sparkle Style' - a new form of ninja moves using Sensei's glittering eyes, Wolfgang's sneezy glitter, and Giggles' flame hiccups. It was magnificently silly and surprisingly effective.
And for the first time ever, Sensei Yeti laughed. His disco ball eyes twinkled as he watched his students perform their gleaming routine. Sometimes the silliest things make the best ninja moves, he chuckled. From that day forward, the Ninja Academy for Silly Monsters became famous for its dazzling style.
